Students CARE

Students CARE is a student driven initiative launched in 2004 at the University of the West Indies ' Mona Campus. Each semester the initiative will seek to raise a significant sum of money with the hopes of addressing some issue/problem/social ill facing the wider society.

The name, Students CARE is an acronym for the words

Active

Responsive

Empowered

This clearly describes the aim of the initiative which is to make UWI students conscious of their place in the society and of the society itself; encourage them to play an active role in shaping the country; discourage apathy and make the students responsive to their own condition; empower the students with the knowledge that they do in fact have the power to make a difference.
